NBA Finals Watch Party

It's the Knicks against the Spurs. Will one team be fighting for its life, or will both teams be fighting for home court advantage?

Find out at our watch party for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Monday, June 8, at our home away from home, the Sidelines Grille, 4719 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta. Tip time is 8:30 p.m., but we'll be gathering at 8 p.m.

Sidelines can set aside up to 25 seats for us. As we've done with other watch parties, everyone is responsible for their own food and drink. Sidelines will extend its hours to 11 p.m. to accommodate us.

Special Bonus: Monday night is cake night. Get a free slice of cake for dessert with any entree you order.

Have brunch at the Local Republic restaurant in Lawrenceville and see the Tony Award winning play In The Heights at the new Aurora Theatre, Sunday, June 14.

Bro Marc Gault has reserved table space for 12 at 12 noon, but he may be able to adjust that upward if enough people reserve by June 7.

Our June OLM:
Spread Your Kindness; Stay for the Soccer with the COH Men's Club

We have a doubleheader for our June 16 OLM. We'll have our Table Lodge speaker for dinner and then we'll have a watch party for the Argentina-Algeria World Cup match at 9 p.m. as a joint program of Lodge Bezalel and the Congregation Or Hadash Men's Club.

Members and guests of the Lodge and the Men's Club are invited to join us starting at 7:45 p.m. for dinner and the speaker and then for the match. The Lodge Bezalel OLM (business meeting) is open only to HOD brethren. Note our earlier times for this meeting.

Our Speaker
If you're getting old but still feel young, you can channel your zest for life by volunteering with the One Good Deed Friendly Visitor Program. It matches older adults with volunteers for friendship and companionship.

You can learn all about the program and volunteer opportunities from our June OLM Table Lodge speaker, Vivienne Kurland, who manages the program JF&CS.

Kind and compassionate friendly visitors make a monumental difference in the lives of the older adults in our community - reducing loneliness and isolation and giving them meaningful social connections.

The Soccer Match
We'll have the big projection screen set up for the match between Argentina and Algeria. Key players for Argentina include Lionel Messi, Lautaro Martínez, and Rodrigo De Paul. For Algeria, notable players are Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani.

We all know about Messi from his starred career at Barcelona FC and current gigs with Inter Miami and Lowe's. Martínez is the team captain and center forward for Inter Milan in Italy's Serie A, and De Paul is a midfielder for Inter Miami without the Loew's gig.

Born in France, Marhrez played in the English Premier League with Manchester City before joining Al Ahli in the Saudi Pro League. Slimani, a striker, is Algeria's all-time international scoring leader who has played in the EPL for teams in Turkey and in Europe.
